A native of suburban Chicago, Barbara Wilcox moved to Western North Carolina in 2010 seeking a more peaceful lifestyle.

After retiring from a career in public relations, Barb signed up for her first jewelry class in 2011 and was instantly hooked. Her work includes beadweaving, enameling and metal working. For three years, she was one of 50 jewelry artists who participated in a beading cruise, taking classes with nationally recognized instructors. She has attended Jewel School for five years, sponsored by Jewelry TV in Knoxville, and has travelled to the Czech Republic several times on beading trips.
 
Barb creates her pieces in her home studio in Mills River, NC In addition to making jewelry, she teaches classes at several locations in Western North Carolina. You can also find her work at local art and craft shows.
