Honoring the art of traditional quilt-making, Jo-Ann creates her unique landscapes by individually hand cutting dozens of fabrics then layering them over a foundation of batting. She then uses metallic and clear threads to machine stitch each piece. Her award-winning art quilts are mounted on canvas and float inside a handmade frame or wood panel. She has taught several workshops in silk painting and fabric collage at the internationally known John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC, and continues to teach locally. She is a member of the Art League of Henderson County. Jo-Ann, a former art teacher, relocated to Flat Rock, NC from Cape Canaveral, FL in 2018. She was born and raised in Manchester, Connecticut. Jo-Ann’s work can also be seen at Jensen Pottery in downtown St. Augustine, Florida.
