Honoring the art of traditional quilt-making, Jo-Ann creates her unique landscapes by individually hand-cutting dozens of fabrics and then layering them over a foundation of batting. She then uses metallic and cotton threads to machine stitch each piece. Her award-winning art quilts are either framed under glass or mounted on canvas that float inside a handmade frame or wood panel.

She has taught several workshops in silk painting and fabric collage at the internationally known John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC, and continues to teach locally. She is a member of the Art League of Henderson County and the Carolina Mountain Artists Guild.

Jo-Ann, a former art teacher, relocated to Flat Rock, North Carolina, from Cape Canaveral, Florida in 2018. She was born and raised in Manchester, Connecticut.

Jo-Ann’s work can be seen at the Carolina Mountain Artists Guild gallery at 444 North Main Street in Hendersonville, NC.
