Having lived in different places in the United States and being a native Missourian, Mary E Jones moved to Asheville, North Carolina in 1995 with her husband, Bob, a native of North Carolina. In 2011, she joined the Carolina Mountain Artists Guild and started to devote more time to painting.

Birds and animals are favorite topics to paint, and she enjoys painting miniatures of them. Another favorite is the painting of mountain scenery, reminding everyone of the beauty all around us.

Most of her life, she has enjoyed funny sayings and now paints signs, causing much laughter from customers as they come into the shop.
